Who is required to register for VAT in Ethiopia?

Any business with an annual taxable turnover exceeding ETB 1,000,000 must register for VAT. Voluntary registration is also available below this threshold.

What is the current corporate income tax rate?

The Business Profit Tax rate for incorporated businesses is 30% of taxable profit. Different rates apply for individual sole traders and specific sectors.

When is the Ethiopian fiscal year-end?

The Ethiopian fiscal year runs from Hamle 1 (July 8) to Sene 30 (July 7) of the following year. Annual returns are typically due by October.
